The yearly FG4SS
weekend! |
For the
second time, the FG4SS gathered again for a 4-day
long weekend from 13 - 16 May. This time we
discovered the Belgian coastal region and "Flanders
Fields". We stayed at
Noordzeepark in
De Haan in typical fishermen's houses.
After a rainy start on Thursday morning, we experienced
once again the weather gods their positive attitude
towards 4stroke trips: we had lunch on a sunny terrace
in Damme! No sign of rain anymore, and this throughout
the whole week-end!
Second day was a tour following the coastal line till
Nieuwpoort and then down to
Westvleteren.
Unfortunately the
monks had "lazy Friday" and we did not have a chance to
taste their famous Trappist Beer. After lunch we drove
to the
"Kemmelberg" and visited some WWI
monuments and cemeteries amongst which the
Pool of Peace and
Hill 60.
Third day was a tour through the "polders" via
Diksmuide with the
IJzertoren to the
Menenpoort in Ieper.
On Sunday we concluded this great week-end with a nice
and easy ride home...
